Apparently "selfie" was named as the word of the year so there expect to see a few festive twists on it from cartoonists this year. Here's one from the December issue of Saga.

Humorous illustration: Keep it down!

This illustration accompanied a newspaper article about irritation at rising noise levels. Maybe it's because I'm getting older, but I can relate to this. And talking of getting older, readers of a certain age may know that Noise Annoys is a Buzzcocks song.

Technology cartoons: Silent contemplation

Computers and gadgets are a huge part of our lives these days, so it's no surprise that this is one of the key subjects I seem to draw about now. People spend so much time in silent, heads-down contemplation of their gadgets that cartoons with no captions seem to work well. Christmas cartoon caption contest craziness

Can I really post two Santa Claus cartoons in a row? Well, it is [almost] Christmas. (Hang on, there's a pattern developing here ...)

Readers of the Daily Mail have been let loose on this cartoon, as it appears on their financial website This is Money, as the Austerity Christmas caption competition.
