Royston cartoons exhibition now open

My cartoon exhibition Long Time, No See is now on at York Street Gallery in Ramsgate. It runs until midday on May 12. There are more than 70 top gags from Private Eye, The Spectator, Reader's Digest etc on Covid and much else. Most are signed and framed prints plus there are some originals for sale and books, cards and postcards.

Due to Covid restrictions I can't have a private view/opening but I'm aiming to be in the gallery at various times on Saturday and Sunday, and possibly other days too, so get in touch if you want to have socially distanced cartoony chat.

Long Time, No See: An Exhibition of Cartoons by Royston is at York Street Gallery, 22 York Street, Ramsgate.

Magazine cartoon: A hipster Christmas

"Everyone has beards now, so I've shaved mine off."

I'm not sure how I got to December 17 without blogging any Christmas cartoons, particularly as I posted loads last year and one every day as a cartoon advent calendar in 2012 and 2011.

This one can be seen in the current edition of Saga magazine.

Magazine cartoon: Time and tide

"Sire, the risk-assessment people say, No way."

Here's a cartoon from the September issue of Saga magazine. The subject of risk assessments and health & safety regulations has been a rich seam for jokes for some time now.

Saga magazine cartoon: Another onesie

"Grandad must have sneaked down to the pub again – there's nobody in this onesie."

This was drawn for the letters page of Saga magazine, to accompany a reader's enthusiastic missive about the onesie as a good alternative to putting on the central heating!

It's not the first onesie cartoon I've done and probably won't be the last, at least until everyone stops dressing like oversized babies.
